Having
started his winemaking career in the Medoc region of bordeaux in 1977,
John Belsham is recognized internationally as an astute winemaker,
consultant and wine judge whose reputation rests on the simple principle
of minimizing winemaking intervention by producing the highest quality
fruit possible; ultimately creating wines of depth, character and
expression. In addition to Foxes Island, Belsham owns the
winemaking consulting group, Wine Focus and Marlborough Oak Imports Ltd,
the exclusive NZ barrel importer for Dargaud & Jaegle and Marc
Grenier.
A highly sought after international wine judge, Belsham is a wine consultant to Air New Zealand and the Wine Panel Chair for the Cuisine Magazine's wine reviews.
