Austria has had a lot of bad press, almost all of it unfair and unjustified. However, since 2000, Austria has been on an ever-upward trajectory, gaining popularity due to the freshness, elegance and thirst-quenching deliciousness of their wines, most notably the noble Gruner Veltliner, produced in the region of Niederosterreich in the far NE corner of the country.
Here, the Niederostrreich is split into 3 distinct wine regions, Kamptal, Kremstal and Wachau which are spread east to west respectively along a 15 miles stretch of the Danube, with each region benefiting from warm days and cool nights. The terrain is rugged with many hills that wrap the vineyards around to expose them to high amounts of heat and sunlight. South of Niederosterreich is the warm and humid region of Burgenland, famous for the Neusiedler See, a vast and very shallow inland lake and associated marshes that produce some of the greatest sweet wines in the World.
Our suppliers come from all around the world, but they share one common goal – quality.
