Cave de Buxy

Founded in 1931 by 98 small family grape growers and winemakers, the Caves de Buxy, based in the warm hinterlands of the Cote Chalonnaise in Southern Burgundy, has now grown to 120 family growers covering some 2,000 ha of vines spread across several appellations within both Maconnais and Chalonnaise. Buxy’s strive for quality is apparent from every level. The winemaker, Alan Pierre, visits every vineyard and his team oversee quality of grapes during the season, from Bud Break to ripening and vintaging. This is a deliciously ripe, soft succulent red fruit, pureed raspberry and blackberry, some vanilla oak and a touch of spice, balanced by a fresh ‘lift’ of acidity and long finish. A super every day drinking red Burgundy.
The grapes are 100% de-stemmed after harvest. 25% is aged in both Foudres and barrels, with a use of 1-5yr old French oak barrels. The remaining 75% is fermented in stainless steel tank.
